The attention of my friends, colleagues, and stakeholders within the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has been drawn to a circulated video recording of me analyzing issues concerning the forthcoming National Convention 2026.
It has become necessary to address the matter directly and transparently.
1. On the Content of the Video
The video in question contains my independent political analysis of issues surrounding the upcoming NANS election. At no point in that recording did I:
²Mention the name of Comrade Akinteye Babatunde (Babtee)
²Attack any individual personally
²Spread falsehood against any candidate
²Engage in defamation or character assassination.
²The analysis was issue-based, focused on governance direction, leadership capacity, and the future of NANS.
Political analysis is not an attack. It is a democratic right.
2. On Allegations and Blackmail Attempts
It is deeply unfortunate that the video is now being weaponized for blackmail and political manipulation.
Let it be clearly stated:
²I have nothing to hide.
²I stand by every issue-based statement I made.
²No intimidation will silence my right to political expression.
If anyone feels challenged by policy-based analysis, the proper response is debate — not blackmail.
3. My Stand in the 2026 NANS Convention
Yes, I openly support Comrade Opiano for President at the 2026 National Convention. That support is based on:
²Leadership capacity
²Ideological clarity
²Organizational experience
²Commitment to student welfare
Supporting a candidate is not a crime. It is participation in democracy.
4. My Challenge to All Aspirants
Let us:
²Debate openly
²Speak on issues
²Present manifestos
²Allow delegates to decide freely
The strength of NANS lies in democratic maturity — not in fear tactics.
6. Final Word
²I remain committed to:
²Issue-based engagement
²Respectful political conduct
²Democratic participation
The advancement of Nigerian students
Attempts to intimidate me will not succeed. I will continue to speak truthfully, responsibly, and courageously.
History always vindicates those who stand on principle.
Signed,
ORISAMOLUWA Adekunle
Stakeholder, NANS
