TINUBU SNUCK OUT TO BEG SOME SENATORS TO VOTE FOR AKPABIO - NDUME.

     Shortly after Senator Godswill Akpabio emerged as the President of the 10th Senate, his fellow Senator Ali Ndume made a revelation during an interview on Channels TV's Politics Today on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. According to Ndume, President Bola Tinubu discreetly approached certain lawmakers, urging them to vote for Akpabio.

Ndume emphasized that Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa-Ibom State, possessed the necessary qualities to lead the Senate and was the preferred choice of both the president and the party. He acknowledged the president's astute political acumen and mentioned that Tinubu deployed his loyal supporters to complement their efforts during the process.

During the interview, Ndume disclosed that the vice president also played a role in the matter, and Tinubu himself personally reached out to specific individuals, appealing for their support in favor of Akpabio. Ndume added that Tinubu's reasons for supporting Akpabio were compelling, citing the former governor's origin from the South-South region, which had not produced a Senate President since 1999.

It is worth noting that Ndume's statements shed light on the political dynamics surrounding Akpabio's election and the behind-the-scenes efforts made by influential figures to garner support for his candidacy.
