THE WAVE OF KILLINGS AND KIDNAPPINGS PERSISTS AS INSECURITY REMAINS A PRESSING CONCERN.

During Tinubu's tenure, a staggering number of 325 individuals lost their lives across 13 states in a mere 10-day period. Additionally, an estimated 150 individuals fell victim to kidnapping incidents.

Within the first ten days of President Bola Tinubu's administration, Nigeria continues to grapple with widespread violence and loss of life. As of the time of this report, a shocking total of 325 Nigerians have tragically lost their lives, with an estimated 150 individuals falling victim to kidnappings. It is important to note that these figures are based on reported cases and the actual numbers may be higher, as many incidents go unreported.

A closer look at the data reveals that out of the 325 fatalities, 150 were individuals identified as terrorists, bandits, cultists, or kidnappers. Additionally, 170 of the victims were ordinary citizens, while the remaining five were security personnel.

President Tinubu, recognizing the significance of security, emphasized its importance in his inauguration speech. He acknowledged that without security, neither prosperity nor justice can thrive. To address this pressing issue, the President pledged to undertake security reforms, focusing on both the doctrine and architecture of the security apparatus.

He emphasized the need to invest in security personnel, going beyond mere numerical increase. The administration aims to provide enhanced training, equipment, improved remuneration, and increased firepower to strengthen the security forces.

Regrettably, even as President Tinubu assumed power, acts of violence persisted. In Rivers State, gunmen carried out a gruesome attack, resulting in the killing and beheading of four individuals.

The grave situation calls for urgent action to restore peace and security across the nation.
